The “Best” HDTV
by admin ~ June 26th, 2008. Filed under: HDTV.There is no such thing as a "superior" HDTV brand. The term HDTV simply refers to the aspect ratio of 16:9 which provides a much sharper picture than Standard Definition Television (SDTV) sets. Digital technology has also allowed for surround sound using the Dolby Digital format.
Much like their predecessors, standardized HDTV is a matter of preference in style, quality, warranty, and personal preferences of the different brands available. Since all future HDTV sets will use the same standardized format and resolution standards, take a look at the picture as you look for an HDTV unit.
If there was such a thing as a superior HDTV set, it would include features that others didn’t have, which is not possible with the standardization that has been agreed upon by the manufacturers and the governments of the developed countries that established them.
The Best Choice
Take a look at the picture as you shop for the HDTV and you’ll notice slight differences in picture quality, much like watching a movie at a theater. You may note better quality of color reproduction and other variants that may have a bearing on your choice.
Certainly styling and design will have an influence in your decision. Listen to the sound that is reproduced by the HDTV unit speakers without amplification or add-on speakers. Your HDTV will allow you to use digital sound components to make improvements later.
Look instead at the different sizes, shapes, styles and screen dimensions that will add to the room you use as it’s home. Flat screens come in many varieties and sizes, and many are so large they aren’t feasible for the average living room.
Better definition is a given, so focus on the features that will make your HDTV fit in well with your furnishings and space. Finally, you’ll go price shopping and bargains are easily found in such a competitive market. Prices have fallen once standards for manufacturers and the outlook for future hardware were established.
Your preference in brands may be primary to your choice, but there is always a bargain to be found for the person who checks the ads, the internet, and the newspaper inserts that often accompany the Sunday paper.
